DokuBaku was able to visit the regions of Azerbaijan for the first time in 2019.
The main purpose of this program is to promote documentary film in the regions, to increase interest in it, to conduct discussions, to organize seminars by experts and, of course, to increase the interest of young people in film and art.
The first DokuBaku On Tour show took place in September at the Sabunchu District Youth House. Here was the screening of Martha Prusses 'Over the limit'. The film features exclusive Russian coaching techniques based on physical and mental pressure in athletes' training. Aesthetically pleasingly, the film captures the “backstage” anguish required by sports.
Our next On Tour show was in Astara and Lankaran. Two film screenings and concerts were organized in these two regions.
Produced in 2016, "The New Life of Gogita" tells the story of a hero named Gogita starting from scratch and experiencing difficulties in life. Further screening of DokuBaku On Tour was in Astara bookhouse & cafe by Rina Castelnuovo and Tamir Elterman`s entitled "Muhi – generally temporary". The film, released in 2017, tells the story of a hero who lives in an Israeli hospital who has been stuck in his home in Gaza for seven years.
After the screening and discussions, participants of the event had the opportunity to listen to the "Mahalla" band.
Following the successful completion of the 3rd DokuBaku IDFF on October 02-06, the festival team held film screenings in the western regions of Azerbaijan as part of the DokuBaku on Tour Project. Our team was a guest at the Gazakh Youth Center, Shamkir Youth Center, Tovuz Youth House and Gadabay Ashigs School.
In these regions were screened 4 films and played 2 theater plays.
In addition to the film screenings in Tovuz and Gadabay, there was also a play "Garden of Dreams", based on the work of our southern compatriot Parviz Bashardust. The play “Garden of Dreams” was staged by Imam Jabirowich Hasanow and played by Ilgar Jahangir and Rauf Shahsuvarov.
We would like to mention that DokuBaku On Tour was held in collaboration with DokuBaku IDFF and CineDoc IDFF.
